I have just completed the restoration of the portrait of Kennbunk native Lizzie Bourne who died in September of 1855 at age 23 in the aftermath of a sudden storm during a family hike to the summit of Mount Washington, NH.

The portrait was painted posthumously by Charles Octavius Cole from a daguerreotype which is in the collection of the Brick Store Museum in Kennebunk Maine. On Wednesday evening October 25, the Brick Store Museum is hosting a reception for the homecoming of her revitalized portrait.
